Meet Erick Pineros –
How long have you been with Wynns Locksmiths, and what’s your current role?
I have been employed by Wynns Locksmiths for the past 15 months, where I currently work as a workshop technician.
What first drew you to locksmithing (or the security industry)?
I have always been drawn to hands-on work, and when I entered this profession, I developed a strong interest in locksmithing as it allows me to understand the internal mechanisms of locks, including how to assemble, disassemble, and properly maintain them.
What do you enjoy most about your work at Wynns?
There are many aspects of my role that I truly enjoy. In particular, the positive working environment, the strong support from colleagues who are always willing to help and guide newer team members, and the quality of the facilities. I also value the opportunity to continuously develop my knowledge and skills in locksmithing.
Is there a project, challenge, or moment you’re particularly proud of?
There is no specific project or moment that stands out. However, I take pride in my work on a daily basis, as I consistently give my best effort and maintain a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work at all times.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your role or the Preston branch?
People may be surprised by the extensive variety of locks, as many details differ depending on the brand and key profile. There are thousands of different types, and although we do not handle every single one in the workshop, we are highly familiar with the majority of them and can recognise them from experience.
What keeps you motivated or inspired in your day-to-day work?
What motivates me is the fact that this is my profession, and I take genuine enjoyment and pride in the work I do every day.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?
In my spare time, I enjoy staying active through exercise and spending quality time with my family.
