Wynns Locksmiths

Welcome to episode 4 of Locksmiths Lit Up! This month we are introducing you to Ben. He is our automotive locksmith extraordinaire. Chances are that if you come in to have a spare car key cut, or the locks on your car changed – Ben will be overseeing if not completing the work himself.

Why did you become a locksmith?

I became a locksmith to try something different. I’m a drummer and was concentrating on music before. I wanted a change from being primarily music focused. I still play music to this day, but locksmithing is my day job.

What do you enjoy most about being a locksmith?

I enjoy all the different things you can do. It might be as simple as cutting a spare key for someone to coding new car keys. I could be re-keying locks one hour and then moving a safe – the list goes on and on of the different jobs to fill a day.

What excites you about the locksmith industry?

Every day you don’t know who is going to come in and what they are going to want. It keeps life interesting. Also the locksmith industry is ever changing with new products and services coming out every year. It’s exciting being a part of something that is different not only in the day to day of the job, but also in the year to year.

What's your favourite?

TV SHOW: It was Game of Thrones, I don’t have a new one yet now that it’s ended.
SONG: I have too many to even start listing.
BAND/ARTIST: I like all kinds of music. From rock, funk, to hip hop, and jazz.
